Dark Chess

Taiwanese-rules half-board Dark Chess: all 32 pieces start face down on a 4×8 board, and the first piece you flip sets your color. Each turn, flip a piece or move one step; higher ranks capture lower, but the General can't take a Soldier while a Soldier can take the General, and Cannons jump a piece to capture. A steaming teapot and ivory pieces with brush-script characters set a classic teahouse mood.
